Hi, I’m Mónica, the owner and lead instructor at Drypp Drop Workshop in Boulder, CO. I teach music, art, and Taekwondo classes to students of all ages, both virtually and in person. With nearly two decades of teaching experience, my mission is to empower learners through confidence and personal growth.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Fine Arts Certificate and have taught high school art and music, including directing the choir and guitar ensembles at Shining Mountain Waldorf School. Art has always been a core part of my life, inspired by local artists who generously opened their homes to teach me as a teen. Their kindness shaped my approach to teaching today, where I encourage joyful exploration and artistic growth.

In addition to the arts, I’m a Kukkiwon-certified 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. My martial arts classes emphasize focus, respect, and life skills, integrating the values that Taekwondo instilled in me since I began training at the age of four. Whether through creative expression or disciplined movement, I aim to help students build confidence and find their inner strength.

Why Drypp Drop?

"Drypp Drop" is Norwegian for "Drip Drop." Growing up, I found myself deeply inspired by the artists and musicians of Norway—figures like Edvard Grieg, Harriet Backer, Edvard Munch, and Nikolai Astrup. Their bold use of color, emotion, and expression in their art and music turned my soul toward art. Drypp Drop Workshop is a tribute to these artists, who left small "drip drops" of inspiration that fueled many artists’ like myself on their own artistic journeys. Just like those drops of inspiration, I hope to inspire every student who walks through our doors to find their own creative voice.

Teaching art—whether in schools, studios, or virtually—feels like home to me. I believe every child is an artist, and watching my students gain confidence as they freely express themselves is the greatest joy.
