I have 17+ years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education earned in 2014 from the School of Music at The Master's University.

Since then I moved to Boulder, CO in 2019 and enjoy performing with my bands Neon Noir, ColdReplay - A Denver-Based Coldplay Tribute, and with singer-songwriter Alex Hardesty.

**Please note, lessons in my home studio include three sweet cats. We have air purifiers and sanitize daily.

Music is an essential art that I believe anyone can and should learn to love. I am committed to guiding students of all ages how to explore the exceptional world of music and how to develop their own personal and distinctive strength as a musician by allowing them to achieve their highest musical potential through musicianship, piano performance, theory, composition, and music history. My students are ultimately challenged to fulfill their best potential by pursuing their own musical interests. I desire that each of my students will be able to enjoy the music that they create and to have personal satisfaction of their accomplishments.

$40 per 30-minute lesson
$50 per 45-minute lesson
$60 per 60-minute lesson

Lessons are offered in 30, 45, and 60 minute increments, once a week and pre-scheduled with me.

30-minute lessons are recommended when starting out piano lessons or for younger learners. As the student becomes more proficient, lesson lengths can increase to 45 or 60 minutes.

Parents/guardians are welcome to watch and participate in the first lesson, however I do encourage private lessons to be 1-on-1, giving the student a chance to grow in responsibility and confidence.

Payments - Lessons are charged by the week. While most months have 4 weeks, some have 5 and others may only have 3 (depending on holidays). Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, Zelle, Check, or cash is accepted.

Payment for the month is due on the 1st of each month. Payments done on the 3rd or after will be considered late, and will be charged a $15 late fee - make sure to add it on your calendar or turn on your request notifications!

Cancellations/Sick Days - Both my virtual and in-person music lessons are mostly back-to-back, so I will be unable to prolong any lessons. So if a student taking a 30-minute lesson is 10 minutes late, they will receive a 20-minute lesson.

If the student or their household is sick, please let me know ASAP to cancel or postpone. The lesson may either be postponed depending on availability, or it can be carried over to the following month of lessons.

Another option for sick days is to do a virtual lesson with me at the same scheduled time (if the student is feeling well enough!)
**Please let me know at least the morning of if you'd like to opt for virtual that day. There is no penalty or extra charge to opt for virtual the day of.

Snow-Days - This is to be expected when living in beautiful Boulder, CO. Your safety is priority so please do not risk driving to your lesson in dangerous weather conditions.

Just like the Sick Day Policy, you are more than welcome to opt for a virtual lesson if that is safest for you. There is no penalty or extra charge to opt for virtual the day of.

Communication to all students will be made on a snow day (according to the Boulder Valley School District) to confirm a virtual lesson on that day if need be.
Please check your phone/emails/spam for any/all notification from me!

Practice Expectations - Practicing 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day is ideal and required for most learners. Always practice efficiently if you want to be the best musician you can be.

I'm more than happy to work with all my students on coming up with a practice schedule and I highly encourage parents/guardians to be involved with this plan if students are young.

Make sure your home practice area is well-lit, distraction-free (headphones are great for keyboards!), and in a consistent space.

Materials - Please bring a spiral notebook to your first lesson that will act as an assignment notebook. This must be brought to every lesson in order to keep track of assignments, assigned pieces, and practice suggestions or goals for each week.

Material requirements will be shared either before or on the first lesson.

Students are required to keep their books in a canvas tote bag or backpack for easy transport.

Occasionally, materials may be acquired by the teacher, but must be fully reimbursed by the next lesson.

Vacation Weeks - No lessons will be had on Thanksgiving break (one week), and Christmas break (two weeks/sometimes three depending on the calendar). Lessons that fall on Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day can either be rescheduled or cancelled. Lessons are held on all other holidays, unless otherwise communicated by me.

Discontinuing Lessons - I understand there may be times that music lessons may not work for your family. You may cancel at any time, although I cannot refund any weeks that have already been paid for. If you need to take a break longer than one month, I unfortunately cannot save your lesson spot.

When you wish to discontinue lessons, at least a 3 weeks notice is recommended.
