Hi, I’m Mónica, the owner and teacher at Drypp Drop Workshop in Boulder, CO. Though my bachelor’s degree is in Music Education, my passion for art has been a lifelong journey. I’ve pursued college art classes, earned a fine arts certificate, and currently teach high school art at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in North Boulder.

The inspiration for my own art lesson workshop comes from my high school years, where I learned from local artists who opened their homes to teach teens how to paint. Their kindness and creativity left a lasting impression on me, and they continue to inspire my teaching today.

Why Drypp Drop?

"Drypp Drop" is Norwegian for "Drip Drop." Growing up, I found myself deeply inspired by the artists and musicians of Norway—figures like Edvard Grieg, Harriet Backer, Edvard Munch, and Nikolai Astrup. Their bold use of color, emotion, and expression in their art and music turned my soul toward art. Drypp Drop Workshop is a tribute to these artists, who left small "drip drops" of inspiration that fueled many artists’ like myself on their own artistic journeys. Just like those drops of inspiration, I hope to inspire every student who walks through our doors to find their own creative voice.

Teaching art—whether in schools, studios, or virtually—feels like home to me. I believe every child is an artist, and watching my students gain confidence as they freely express themselves is the greatest joy.
